Invitation to Rotary Clubs to Submit Suggestions for Nominations for DISTRICT GOVERNOR District 3300 RY2020/2021
Clubs are invited to submit their suggestion of candidate for the position of District Governor of Rotary International District 3300 for Rotary Year 2020-2021.
Your club’s complete suggestion documents must be sent or delivered to reach the District Governor Dr.Manohur Kurup at the following address not later than 5.00 pm on Friday, September 15th 2017

1. The suggestion must be submitted only by his/her home club in the form of a resolution, suggesting the candidate by name, adopted at a duly convened meeting of the club.
2. Club shall convene its board meeting to discuss and endorse the candidate.
3. The endorsed candidate by the club’s board of directors shall then be confirmed by the members of the club at a duly convened extra ordinary general meeting of the club.
Thereafter the club shall submit to the District Governor the following:
( A )
The candidate’s bio-data shall consist of the following:
(i) Personal particulars i.e. address, age, family;
(ii) Professional & educational background;
(iii) Rotary data i.e. name of current club, year of joining & classification
(iv) Post (s) held in Rotary Club(s);
(v) Post(s) held in District stating the activities carried out;
(If no activities are carried out, no credit shall be considered)
(vi) Post(s) held in non-Rotary organisation(s) & role played;
(vii) Attendance at District events;
(viii) Attendance at Rotary International events;
(ix) Support of The Rotary Foundation;
(x) Support of Yayasan Kelab Kelab Rotary Malaysia;
(xi) Significant project(s) involved in over the years
(xii) List of members proposed to Rotary Club(s);
(xiii) Candidate’s vision of Rotary;
(xiv) Programmes or activities candidate intends to carry out if successfully elected as district
(xv) Any other relevant information.
The particulars in the bio-data shall not exceed two pages of an A4 size paper and shall not be smaller than Times Roman font size 12. In the event the number of pages exceeds two pages, the district governor shall return the bio-data to the candidate who must re-submit within the deadline set and within two pages of an A4 size paper. Failure to comply again shall result in the candidate being disqualified.
Qualification of Candidate and Club
The candidate and his home club must fulfil the following criteria:-
(a) Be a member of one or more Rotary club(s) for not less than seven (7) years;
(b) Have served as a full term Club President;
(c) Must be physically capable to carry out the duties of the district governor if elected;
(d) Must be a member of good standing;
(e) Must have no criminal records;
(f) Must be suggested by the Rotary club that is in good standing; and
(g) Must have been a member of the home Rotary club for at least one Rotary year.
Interview of Candidates
The interview of the candidates by the District Nominating Committee will be held at 11.00am, on Sunday 8th October 2017 and the venue will be notified to the candidates by email. The Nominating Committee is charged to nominate the best qualified Rotarian who is available to serve as governor.
RI Bylaws 14.020.5 (MOP2016) Nomination by Committee of Best Qualified Rotarian:
The nominating committee for governor shall not be limited in its selection to those names submitted by clubs in the district. The committee shall nominate the best qualified Rotarian who is available to serve as governor.
