Rotary Peace Scholarships

Rotary Peace Scholarships

Rotary is one of the world's largest humanitarian organizations, with 1.2 million members in more than 200 countries and geographical areas.

Rotary clubs participate in a broad range of humanitarian, intercultural, and educational activities in their own communities and abroad to provide health care and medical supplies, clean water, food, job training, youth development, and education to millions of people in need. Rotary volunteers also travel the world, lending their technical expertise and knowledge where they are most needed to alleviate hardship and solve problems

Promoting Peace through International Scholarships Rotary builds world understanding through international scholarships and professional exchange programs. Every year, Rotary's Ambassadorial Scholarships program sponsors up to 1,000 students to study abroad in more than 60 countries.

Rotary has two programs developed specifically to equip future leaders in the practice of peace.

Rotary World Peace Fellowships

In 2002, Rotary launched the Rotary Centers for International Studies in peace and conflict resolution, an innovative program designed to educate tomorrow's peacemakers today. Hosted at seven leading universities around the globe, the program funds up to 60 qualified individuals each year for master's-level degrees in international relations, sustainable development, political and economic development, conflict studies, and negotiation - providing promising leaders the tools to further the cause of peace. Qualified applicants hold a bachelor's degree and several years' relevant work experience.

Rotary Peace and Conflict Studies Program

In 2006, Rotary established the Rotary Peace and Conflict Studies Program, a shortterm, professional development alternative to the Rotary Centers master's degree program. Designed for mid- to upper-level professionals currently working in fields related to conflict resolution and peace building, the program inspires leaders to work toward a culture of peace and provides them with the additional knowledge and tools to increase their effectiveness.
Offered in English, the program integrates theoretical coursework and field study experience and is led by experts from around the world. Two sessions for up to 30 participants are held each year at the Rotary Center for Peace and Conflict Studies at Chulalongkorn University in Bangkok, Thailand, one of the leading institutions in Asia.

Prospective candidates must apply through a Rotary club.
