District Goals & Strategic Plans 2009 - 2010

Mission:

The mission of Rotary International, a worldwide association of Rotary Clubs, is to provide:

  • Service to Others
  • Promote High Ethical Standards and
  • Advance world understanding, goodwill, and peace through its fellowship of business, professional, a community leaders.

Rotary International Presidential Citation

  • All clubs are encouraged to achieve the citation and should ensure that the Interact and Rotaract club sponsored by them also qualify for the citation.
  • The goal is for 100% of the Rotary clubs to qualify for the citation; 60% of the Rotaract and Interact clubs should all qualify.
  • Expand Membership in both numbers and quality.
  • All clubs should aim to have a net increase of at least 2.
  • The goal is that 75% of the clubs will have a net increase of 10%.
  • Smaller clubs with less than 10 members should aim for at least 10 members.
  • Clubs with 10-14 members should aim for 15 members
  • Clubs with 15-19 members should aim for 20 members
  • All clubs should work towards retaining the existing members and bringing in qualified new members, keeping in mind the classification principle and qualifications as stated in Article 5, Section 2 of the Constitution Rotary International as well as bringing in TRF Alumni members age 35 or younger.
  • Increase diversity of Club's membership by recruiting at least 2 new members who belong to a demographic group which is under represented.
  • The goal is to have a District membership of 2,000 by 15 May 2010.

Club Extension

To establish at least two new clubs particularly in areas which do not have a Rotary Club.


The Rotary Foundation

Annual Programs Fund

All Clubs to contribute to the Annual Programs Fund with a per capita US$100.00 per member with all members contributing something

  • The District Annual Programs Fund Goal is US$170,000.00
  • Permanent Fund Goal is US$2,000.



Polio Plus

All clubs to contribute at least US$1 ,000, but encouraged to pay US$2,000 each towards the Polio Plus program of a Polio free world.

  • District goal for Polio Plus Program is US$75,000



District Designated Fund (DDF)

  • DDF for RY09/10 is US$99,874.74



Humanitarian Grants

US$19,900 is available from the District Simplified Grants.

To qualify for these grants the club should be 100% per capita EREY club.



All applications for Matching Grants should be submitted by 31 July 2009.


The completed form should be sent to the Grants Chairman, PDG Dato' Jimmy Lim with a copy to the TRF Chairman, PDG Dr. Paul Lee and a copy to the District Governor.



Group Study Exchange

We will have Group Study Exchange with:

Outgoing Team: 9 May 2010 – 12 June2010

Incoming Team: 11 April 2010 – 15 May 2010


Club leadership Plan

All clubs to adopt the Club Leadership Plan either fully or partially and to implement the strategic planning process to ensure continuity.

  • Advance the Recognition and Public Image of Rotary
  • Conduct public information campaigns to deepen awareness of Rotary in Malaysia.

Yayasan Kelab Kelab Rotary Malaysia

All the clubs are encouraged to participate in the programs of Yayasan Kelab Kelab Rotary Malaysia.


District Conference

All the clubs to be represented at the 75th District Conference which will be held in Sheraton Subang, from 8-10 January 2010.
